The ESPRIT arena has been designed
with a consideration for disabled persons. Wheelchair users and other persons
with walking disabilities are provided with suitable and considerate
infrastructure. These are the details for your visit to events at the ESPRIT
arena:
Arrival by underground/tram
As a rule, line U78 of the
Rheinbahn local transport company travels at 5 minutes intervals to special
events at the ESPRIT arena. Get off at stop 'ESPRIT arena/Messe-Nord'. Travelling
time between Düsseldorf main station and the ESPRIT-arena station is approx. 15
minutes. The ticket price for many events includes public transport.
At the tram stop, elevators on all
platforms take you to the plateau directly in front of the ESPRIT arena. From
there, a separate gate for disabled persons takes you through the southern
entrance to the surrounding promenade, doors being automatic.
Arrival by car
From motorway A44, exit AS
29 Messe-Nord/Arena leads directly to the ESPRIT arena.
Having entered the arena and trade fair complex, follow signs to car parks.
The ESPRIT arena multi-storey car park has spaces for wheelchair users. To get a
parking ticket for the ESPRIT arena multi-storey car park, please download the PDF
file below and send us a copy of your entrance ticket for the wheelchair space
as well as a copy of your wheelchair user identification by fax or ordinary
mail. This must be done seven working
days before the event, since we cannot otherwise guarantee that the parking
tickets will reach you in time.
1. ESPRIT arena multi-storey car park:
If you have a parking ticket for P7 (ESPRIT
arena multi-storey car park), please follow signs to P7. From there, members of the Verkehrswacht
(traffic wardens) will assign you a parking space.
2. Car park P2:
If you do not have a parking ticket for the ESPRIT arena multi-storey car
park, there are reserved spaces for wheelchair users on car park P2. Here also,
traffic wardens will assign you a space. From the car park, take the northern
entrance to reach the area encompassing the arena and proceed from there to the
upper promenade via the special elevator in main staircase K8
(roughly on level
with block 22 on the Stadtsparkasse Düsseldorf stands) or via one of the two
up-and-down passageways (zigzag ways). These are centrally located outside the
ESPRIT stands and respectively the Stadtsparkasse Düsseldorf stands. Doors to the
promenade operate automatically.
Inside the ESPRIT arena
There are a sufficient number of toilets
suitable for disabled persons on the promenade, directly next to the disabled
accesses to the platforms. Platforms for wheelchair users are located in the
lower tier. On the ESPRIT stands these are in blocks 1-8, on the Stadtsparkasse
Düsseldorf stands in blocks 24-29. Persons accompanying wheelchair users have
seats in the row in front of the wheelchair user in the respective block.
Who sells corresponding entry tickets?
As a rule, they are sold by the respective
organizer (Fortuna Düsseldorf, Deutscher Fußball Bund, etc.).
